How to set up conditional cloaking

In some situations you might want to use a combination of a link which expires and another one which has cloaking enabled.

The idea is that once an initial link expires, your visitors will not be able to see the actual new URL in the address bar since it has been cloaked (disguised).

Note: Link cloaking is available starting from the Pro plan.

To set up conditional cloaking

  1. Sign in to your Short.io account.

  2. Shorten a link, enable Cloaking for it and save:

  3. Shorten another link and set expiration date (or click limits) in the Temporary URL section.

  4. In the Expiration URL field enter the link for which you have enabled cloaking:

  5. Save the changes.

When the link mentioned above expires, visitors will be directed to the cloaked new URL.
