With Short.io you can shorten links on your own domain. You have the options to connect a newly created domain or a domain on which you already host your website.

General instructions

  1. Sign in to your domain registrar's page.

  2. Select the domain you want to connect with Short.io.

  3. Open the DNS settings.

  4. Delete all the unnecessary or default settings.

  5. Create one A-record with the following details:

    Host: @

    Type: A

    Data: 207.174.61.1

  6. Save your changes.

  7. Sign in to your Short.io account.

  8. Open the User menu and click on Add domain.

  9. In the next screen click on Add my own domain.

  10. Enter your domain name, select the option This is empty short domain (sub-domain) just for links and click on Add domain.

  11. Open the Domain settings and check if the domain is in status Active.

Domain activation takes a few hours. When the status changes to Active, you can shorten your links.
