If you have acquired a domain from Porkbun, you should follow some activation steps in order to connect the domain with Short.io and use it for link shortening.

Important note: If you use it as your main domain for your website - please configure a subdomain instead.

Porkbun configurations

  1. Sign in to your Porkbun account.

  2. In the Dashboard navigate to the Domain Management section:

  3. Mouse over the domain which you want to connect with Short.io and click on the DNS option that appears.

  4. In the Manage DNS Records screen scroll down to the Current records section and delete or disable all the unnecessary default records of type A, AAAA, ALIAS and CNAME.

  5. Fill in the following information and click on Add:

    • Type: A

    • Host: @

    • Answer: 207.174.61.1

The new record should be visible in the Current records section.
