The encrypted links functionality allows you to create short links which do not reveal the destination URL and cannot be accessed, unless you specify a hash code in the path.

Note: This feature is available starting from the Team plan.

To create encrypted links

  1. Sign in to your Short.io account.

  2. Click on in the Paste URL here field to enable the encrypted links feature:

  3. Paste the URL which you want to shorten.

  4. In the next screen you can copy the generated link with the hash code.

Make sure you store it in a safe place:

  5. Click on Close.

Your encrypted link will look similar to the one below and the secret hash code is not displayed:

Note: Your short link will not redirect without the specific hash code. You need to enter the full path including the hash in order to access the URL.

Due to the fact that the code is not stored on our servers, in case you forgot it, we would not be able to recover it for you.
