In some cases, for example when you purchase a domain from Short.io but you do not verify your contact email within 14 days, the domain will be deactivated, until email is verified.
Deactivated domains cannot be accessed and you will get an error while trying to browse them.
To verify your contact email
You can trigger re-sending of the verification email as follows:
Sign in to your Short.io account.
Navigate to your domain settings and open the Registration info menu:
Click on Resend verification email.
You will receive an email from a registrar agency including instructions on how to verify your email address.

Note: After the email is verified, domain and links will become active within 1 hour and no further actions are required from your side.
